Project X Zone Struggling In Japan

Project X Zone, the 3DS tactical RPG, is having a torrid time in Japan only managing to shift 12,450 copies in the week of Monday 15th October. That result means the game, which released on 11th October, has sold just a little shy of 100,000 in total which will be disappointing for publisher Namco Bandai who will have hoped for much more.

The game, which is a crossover between three companies, Namco Bandai, Capcom, and Sega, is a grid-based tactical game with an in-depth story and an art style to send any anime fans into a dream-like coma! It features over 200 characters, many of which come from the Capcom, Sega and Namco Bandai universes with the likes of Mega Man, Dante, Ulala and Chun-Li all making appearances in the game.

Project X Zone is currently only available in Japan with no plans to bring it to the West as of yet. It seems unlikely it will see the light of day outside the land of the rising sun now though what with the game not performing well in the sales charts.

What do you all think to this news? Are you still hopeful the game will make it to Western shores? Who knows maybe sales will improve.
